"
We put in a solar system to reduce the cost of electricity it's only
going to go up you know. Solar is a great deal right now because of
the rebates. The rebates make it very affordable. Cam is a very sincere,
very good person to work with. He did what he told us he would do, and
what would happen, and how it would be processed, thru the state and
Edison and all that kind of stuff. He did all the paperwork, it happened
exactly like he said it was going to happen, it cost exactly what he
said it was going to cost, he took care of everything for us. It was
great. We got our rebate in three weeks!" Dennis Daniels, April 2003
"
I've always wanted some sort of solar system, and this seemed like a
really good deal, and a good group of people doing it, and that turned
out to be the case. The construction crew was here when they said they'd
be and it all got cleaned up properly. When you figure the net cost
to you after the rebates it's really a good deal. You can't find that
kind of place to put your money now where you're going to get that kind
of payback. From what it cost us, this thing will be paid off in six
or seven years and it's a big thrill to come out and see the meter going
backwards." Bim Goddard, April 2003
"
We installed a 5Kw sytem. Our economic assumptions were based on electrical
rates which were current in July 2002. Based on those rates we concluded
that the pay back for our solar installation would run less than 10
years. Due to the increases in utility rates we now estimate that the
break even point is below 8 years, and is continuing to fall. Best of
all we calucated the financial return of this investment as far in excess
of 8% per year, and rising at a time when we'd be lucky to get 1% in
a savings account. On top of all that I get to drive a fabulous car
for nothing (I plug it in to the solar cells), at a time when gasoline
is over $2 a gallon."

"
I bought the solar system primarily because I'm environmentally conscious
and I wanted to use solar energy, which is very available here in Ojai,
rather than using coal, nuclear or gas. When I found out that the cost
of the system would pay for itself in 8-12 years, that made it economically
viable. I put another solar system in on a farm I own in Carpenteria,
which is closer to the coast and gets a little more fog than Ojai, but
even on the foggiest day, it still produces some electricity. I am very
happy with my solar systems, they have reduced my electric bills by
over 40%. I got my rebate about 5 weeks after the final inspections."
